It is that time of year again to get into the festival spirit. That's right... festivals have returned to Scotland from Edinburgh to the Scottish Borders. These festivals come with a dazzling line-up of performances and events.

The Border's Book Festival - 16th to 19th June
Who doesn't enjoy taking a break and relaxing with a good book in hand? I for one do. The Book Festival features more than 100 events for all ages and you are able to gain entry into Harmony Garden and McInroy & Wood Orchard complimentary. Over the years the festival itself has grown to be more than just books. It allows you to discover health and well-being classes to dropping in on film, music, and comedy sessions. Additionally, you have the opportunity experience the fine food and drink from the Borders and around Scotland.

Hotel Recommendations: Cringletie - near Peebles and Schloss Roxburghe near Kelso

The 150th Open Championship - 10th to 17th July
St Andrews the "Home of Golf" will be host once more and will be welcoming the world's most famous players who will descend on the world's most famous links. The players will be playing for the coveted Claret Jug. I can assure you that this is a historic event with record crowds!

Edinburgh International Festival - 5th to 28th August
This year is a special one; not just because it is back in full swing after the pandemic, but because it was founded in 1947 making this year the 75th anniversary. For three amazing weeks you have the opportunity to experience the best music, theatre, opera, and dance from around the world at the capital's finest venues.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo - 5th to 27th August
I am excited for this event to return this year. Growing up with my grandparents taking my siblings and I to this when we visited Scotland is one of my favourite memories. The event has one of the most amazing and stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle while offering a spectacular mix of dance, music, and military precision. This year's Tattoo is themed around the power of connections and is titled 'Voices.'
